Face Confrence

I was grateful to be involved in the Face Confrence 29th & 30th September .
Which has brought together local communities and those from the services' community.

My task was to create a garment from patches of material , which attendees to the conference had been asked to write on.
We asked everyone to contribute and think of one word which comes to mind when hearing the word 'HIDEN'.

Many of the phrases and words were very personal and poignant .
It felt alot more personal than any garment I have hacked together

The final outcome was worn by  Pádraig Ó Tuama

Rag Weaving

At Pogue's Entry this weekend ( 13/14th September 2014) I was given the opportunity to run a walk in; weaving workshop. With the help of somewhere to_ and the European Open heritage days, I was given the  Opportunity to run the work shop in the history museum's workshop space for the weekend. What a lovely lot of people I met!
Many just wanted to see what I was doing , others asked questions and began to talk about their mothers , people they knew, rag rugs, exhibitions, patch works and button shops!
I had a nice amount of individuals who got stuck in to making; pencil cases, coasters and head bands.
What great conversation comes out of such a simple thing.
So many new people, ideas and inspiration!
Heres a few of my makers from the Sunday...
I'm just sorry I couldn't get all of the weaving on camera!

7th August Open Studios

A nice, small crowd of people came to Our little open Studios On the 7th of August.
Ate Cous Cous and toasties, drank some wine. and  made the place feel warm and fuzzy.

Jugs of CousCous a new dining experiance.

Making Table and Chairs

We found a Basement full of things left by peacocks. box's of hangers, pills of unused wood. rails and poles and posters. Boxes of shoes and hats and a lot of children's clothing. a cave of wonder that didn't show it self until the last week... SO obviously a few of us took to the task of using some of the items .

I made a bench and tables. a first for everything.
These would go towards my feast and conversation type idea.
I realized I need to invest in an electric drill.

Massive Death trap of fun

A collaboration of afternoon fun. Opening one of the panels at the back of the space and making a long very bouncy pole (bamboo and duck tape) with chalk attached at the end (with more duck tape) . Turned in to a fun way to confuse people and annoy Iceland drivers . ..almost feeling like you could fall and kill yourself in the process. a safety hazard which would never be accepted.
