Patch Work. A work in Progress

So over the summer I'd been thinking a lot about Stopping this Hoarding of mine for a while...
Maybe until I have used these materials to their full potential, maybe I Just need less things all together.
My idea is/was to make something which in some way represents why I collect and Hoard things in the first place.

In reality I like to think I live for life and not for things. But when I went home and realised that there is most probably at least one (many) of my things in each room of the House (Garage included) I began to question what I want and need from all these 'things'.

The answers very simple and I have known it from when ever I started Hoarding... its the memories , the relationship with objects..The person who gave that too me, the place I found it in. The rubbish I was too stubborn to throw away .

So In realisation of this. and the fact that for the past year I've been thinking about why I have so much stuff everywhere I go. I decided;

 when I come back to Belfast, I will not Hoard any more. I will not ask people for anything. And I will use and make something from a years worth of collecting.

This Making came in  the form ofa  'patch work' . Reading in to it (which I'm still doing) patch works where made predominantly for warmth, layers added to the design and backed to Create quilts which could be used daily.

There's also the re- using element of scraps and using anything people could find to fill the patchworks for warmth.

I'm also Intrigued by the tradition of handing patchwork down through generations.
In the end all I really wanted to know, was the proper way of making one.

Patchwork is what I have been doing in a round about way. Using scraps and the shapes of materials to form one large piece. I've been doing it all along.

So in light of this, I started to piece together a Patchwork.
 Its not a quilt, and its defiantly not finished yet.

'Its just 'being' for the moment.'
 I think that's what I'll name it.

Working backwards , a little Insight in to how I made the patches .
